gulf-times.com - International Islamic (QIIB) chief executive officer, Abdulbasit A al-Shaibei, is taking part in the ‘Second Gulf – France Economic Forum’ which will be held in Paris today.

The paper focuses on the role of Islamic finance in developing investments, regionally and internationally. The global economic crisis proved the resilience of Islamic finance and its ability to effectively tackle risks compared with conventional mode of financing, QIIB said.
Al-Shaibei’s paper also highlights some of the lessons learnt from the global economic crisis. Moreover, it contains recommendations based on Islamic financing for the creation of business ventures in the Arab region and Europe.
The forum will be held under the patronage of French senior Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Alain Juppe, and will be attended by several dignitaries besides prominent GCC and European businessmen.
