FRANCE - Cooperation between BNM and Banque de France

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the Banque de France has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in financial services between the two countries.
BNM said in a statement, the MoU is a commitment to joint development of Islamic finance industry in France and Malaysia.

The MoU signing ceremony was officiated BNM Governor Tan Sri Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz and Governor of Banque de France, Christian Noyer in a separate ceremony at the annual meeting of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Washington.

The MoU is aimed at stimulating long-term strategic development in the Islamic and conventional finance between the two countries by focusing on several aspects.

It involves the improvement of bilateral cooperation in capacity building and human capital in the financial services industry and provide infrastructure facilities and promote the development of financial markets more effective and conducive.

Add BNM, aspects that also involves increasing cross-border financial activities, including promoting the consistent application of Islamic financial transactions.

Implementation of the MOU will provide a better cooperation in strengthening the financial networks of these two major financial centers, said BNM.
