POLAND - UAE and Poland to explore joint investment potential

noorislamicbank.wordpress.com - Top officials of the UAE and Poland on Sunday agreed to enhance business cooperation and explore joint investment potential between the two countries to further strengthen the bilateral relations. At the UAE-Poland Business Forum, Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Donald Tusk lauded the strong bilateral partnership enjoyed by his country and the UAE and the growth of Dubai, which he said has become a symbol of human endurance, economic development, hospitality and peaceful co-existence. LUXEMBOURG - DIFC and Luxembourg for Finance discuss potential collaboration to develop the financial services industry in the GCC

WWW.WAM.AE -  Dubai, 31st Jan. 2012 (WAM) -- The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the financial and business hub connecting the region's emerging markets with the developed markets of Europe, Asia and the Americas, hosted "Luxembourg and Dubai, a partnership for financial services", in collaboration with Luxembourg for Finance, a public-private partnership between the Luxembourg Government and the Luxembourg Financial Industry Federation that is responsible for the development of the financial sector in the Grand Duchy. UK - LSE enhances its sukuk listing prowess

www.arabnews.com - The UK Treasury may have reiterated that a sovereign debut benchmark Sukuk is not currently prudent because it would not give “value-for-money” to UK taxpayers, but one UK entity of global repute that is enhancing its Islamic finance business is the London Stock Exchange (LSE). 

In January 2012, the LSE in fact attracted the listing of another two sukuk bringing the total number of sukuk which have listed on the exchange to 42 and the total money raised to over $23.75 billion.  (source)

LUXEMBOURG - Luxembourg Delegation in Abu Dhabi and Riyadh on Gulf Tour

Prince Guillaume's and Finance Minister Luc Frieden's tour of the Gulf States continued when they stopped in Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates on Monday, and then to Saudi Arabia yesterday.

Fresh from their working visit to Qatar, the visit to Abu Dhabi, along with the rest of the Luxembourg delegation from the financial service sector in the Grand Duchy, saw them meeting the UAE's Finance Minister, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, to discuss the economic situation in the region and strengthening relationships in the financial field.
